Kendall Whittier, Inc. is proud to announce its intention
to open a Fab Lab in Tulsa, Oklahoma, located in the Kendall-Whittier
Neighborhood. Developed by Neil Gershenfeld at MIT's Center
for Bits and Atoms, Fab Lab is short for "Fabrication Laboratory".
The primary mission of Fab Lab is to open small scale manufacturing
and inventing to the public, free of charge, with no respect
to age, race, income, or skill level. Users are invited
to the lab to create projects for fun, to start a business
or make something they need. The lab provides a place where
some of Tulsa's most educated minds interact with some of
Tulsa's most creative minds, who might otherwise lack exposure
and opportunity to these resources. For many, this opens
doors for micro-industries, further education, jobs, mentoring,
and just healthy productive fun. MIT has invited us to bring
this opportunity to our neighbors and to the Tulsa area.
KWI and Fab Lab Advisors want to share this vision with
you through a fun, interactive, hands-on and visual presentation.
We also want to garner the wisdom and talent of those present
to move forward this exciting project.
